Kenba piano

This pack contains an instrument rack for Ableton Live with samplers using single-notes samples from my childhood upright piano that I had the chance to record in 2022.

It's called "Kenba", a fake trademark used for stencil pianos. It's old, out of tune and has a very peculiar lightly weighted touch.

I tuned the most untuned keys and recorded all the notes with a single light velocity including the releases.

The rack lets you set the levels for an ambient stereo mic with some living-room reverb and a close mono one.

It's not a very "clean" piano sampler, it's noisy, note gains are uneven, some strings are still badly tuned, but it feels warm and has a lot of character.

I also included a single sampler preset with a spectrally manipulated version of the piano.

Requires Ableton Live 11.3.13 or newer.
